The Art League members were invited to interpret “Reflections” with a wide lens. “Reflections”, literal and or abstracted, suggest contemplative, evocative expressions that welcome the viewer’s curiosity, and perhaps recognition. Or the word may show the “real”, or imagined depictions of the multiple reflections that are actually visible.
The show will open with a reception at CHAW from 5:30-7:30 pm on Saturday, August 21st, where Juror, Sharon Robinson, will discuss the art she selected and present awards. Ms. Robinson is a mixed media artist specializing in collage and assemblage. She lives and works in Washington DC. She earned a master’s degree in city planning and worked in the transit and urban design field for over 20 years. Since 2000, Ms. Robinson has been a full-time artist, muralist, teacher, and arts program contractor.
She exhibits in Washington DC, as well as other east and west coast cities, along with teaching at The Art League in Alexandria, VA., the Smithsonian Associates and Howard Community College in Maryland.
The Capitol Hill Art League invites local artists of all mediums and levels to join our membership at: www.caphillartleague.org. Our season runs Sept. 1 - Aug. 31.
